These photo realist landscapes are part of a series of landscape paintings of Bangladesh, London and New York, each landscape depicts an area inhabited by Bangladeshis. The idea is to show how locality has become indistinct. It is difficult to geographically categorise places in our increasingly globalised world. For example how curious to see a double-decker bus in Dhaka. The woman in the lake could be an ethereal alien being wading through the pink muddy waters of life searching for that elusive ‘something’ that we are all scrambling for.
